Icelandic indie artist Helgar releases “SHOUT IN THE DARK,” a powerful alt-pop/rock track about love from a distance and the gravitational pull of emotions. The song is the second single from Helgar’s upcoming debut album, scheduled for release in the fall of 2026. 

“SHOUT IN THE DARK“  tells the story of two satellites constantly drawn toward each other until they eventually collide in a dramatic crash. The music blends indie alt-pop and rock with electronic influences, driven by dramatic vocals, tight drums, synths and guitars. The track takes unexpected turns, including a striking bridge filled with space-inspired atmosphere in the spirit of the legend of David Bowie.

Featured on the track are Eurovision pop-diva, Diljá on backing vocals, Stefán Hjörleifsson from Nýdönsk on guitars, and Kristinn “Kiddi Snerill” Agnarsson (Ásgeir, John Grant) on drums. The song was recorded in Helgar’s studio in Kópavogur and at Kristinn’s drum studio in Reykjavík.

„SHOUT IN THE DARK“ follows the strong success of Helgar’s previous single “ABSURD,” which was released in late November and spent several weeks on Icelandic National Radio Rás 2’s popularity chart’s Top10, while also gaining significant traction across streaming playlists.
